Top 5 Ideas for Creating Your Own Easter Treasure Hunt

10th March 2021

With Easter fast approaching, it’s time to start planning fun activities that the whole family can join in with. Whether you’ll be participating in Easter egg hunts around the garden, planning treasure trails in your local park or looking for Easter activities to do at home, we’ve got you covered.

Think outside the box and add a creative twist to this tradition with our fun and unique Easter treasure hunt ideas. Suitable for the whole family, from toddlers to grown-ups, and anyone with specific dietary needs, create your own Easter activities and treasure hunts with a personal touch.

1. Make Your Own Pairs Game

Test your memory skills with this fun personalised Pairs Game. Transform your favourite family photos or Spring-inspired photography into 25 card pairs (you’ll get 50 in total!). Place them face down on a table and take it in turns to pick two cards in the attempt to match them up this Easter.

Instead of adding photos, you can also create Easter treasure hunt clues. Simply add text to your cards in the Creator Software when you design your Pairs Game – remember to make use of Clipart from our Easter selection to add character to your Easter egg hunt clues.

Top tip: Keep in mind that each card is printed twice. For Easter treasure hunt clues, why not create answer cards to match with your riddles and questions? After each pair is matched, reward the player with an Easter surprise or chocolatey treat!

2. Piece Together an Easter Jigsaw

This is one of our favourite Easter activities to do at home. Create your own personalised Jigsaw Puzzle, featuring an Easter-inspired photo or treasured family memory that everyone will love to piece together. Take the competition up a notch and hide your puzzle pieces around the house or garden to turn it into a fun Easter treasure hunt.

To make this Easter egg hunt easier for children, hide your puzzle pieces in self-fillable eggs, available to buy online or from any craft store. We recommend choosing brightly coloured eggs so that they are a little easier to spot. You can combine each hidden piece with a little chocolate treat or vegan snack to make the treasure hunt even more exciting.

Top tip: For an extra special surprise, add text to your Personalised Puzzle that reveals another Easter egg hunt clue or a winning prize, such as an extra-large Easter egg or a bag of assorted sweets!

3. Display Clues with Personalised Magnets

There are no rules as to when you should plan your Easter egg hunt, so there’s nothing stopping you from starting the week before! Build excitement in the run-up to Easter with a new riddle or clue for your loved ones to solve each day. Create a collection of personalised Photo Magnets to easily secure a clue to the fridge or any other metal surface throughout the house. You can find free downloadable clues just by searching on Google if you struggle to come up with your own.

We love the idea of having a personalised magnet per person in the house and leaving a different clue under their individual photo for them to solve. Leave a different prize hidden for them to find each day, from small chocolate treats to toys – perfect for making your Easter treasure hunt last for days, in addition to leading up to the main prize on the big day.

Top tip: Turn it into an adult Easter egg hunt by hiding prizes in hard-to-reach places or making the clues more difficult to solve. If you’re using self-fillable eggs, hide a few empty ones to trick them too!

4. Have Fun with Photo Stickers

What’s an Easter egg hunt without a basket? If you’re planning an Easter egg hunt for toddlers or a small group of children this year, help distinguish between whose basket is whose with Photo Stickers. Have their favourite photo or an Easter character printed onto personalised stickers to add to their basket or prizes. Photo Stickers will also make a great addition to any Easter gift and will help your little ones (and adults alike!) identify which one is for them.

You can order a sheet of 16 small Photo Stickers as seen in the image above, and personalise each individual sticker to your liking. This is a perfect option for those who have a larger family or are hosting an Easter party with friends in future (or if the Easter bunny has left plenty of gifts!). If you’re looking for larger stickers, you can get 8 medium-sized stickers to customise, or 4 large photo stickers – perfect for those bigger gifts. The large photo stickers will also make great labels for Easter clues – simply add personalised text and Easter Clipart, such as these cute bunnies, when designing your stickers in the Creator Software.

5. DIY Easter Clue Cards

There are plenty of ways to create Easter egg hunt clues, but our favourite way is to get creative and make your own from scratch. You can go down the traditional route and get the children involved with handmade clue cards. You’ll need some colourful card, glue and pens, in addition to any Easter decorations or themed Washi tape from a craft store. The only downside of getting the kids involved is that they’ll have a sneak peek at the clues!

Create your own Easter treasure hunt clues that will last for years to come with personalised Retro Prints. These are a great option for printing your favourite photos in addition to a selection of clearly written and personally designed clues. Presented in a stylish gift box, your photo prints and Easter clues will be protected so you can use them time and time again. You can even combine your most treasured photos with a clue or any other text under the image in the available space – perfect for making your treasure hunt more personal.

Top tip: Create a new bundle of Retro Prints each year, available in quantities of 16, 24 or 32, to build a collection of your Easter memories from over the years – a beautiful keepsake to reminisce and look back on how much your loved ones have changed or grown.
