Valentine's Photo Book Inspiration
It’s that time of year again; take a stroll down the high-street and you’ll no doubt spot plenty of pink chocolate boxes and teddy bears. If your favourite person deserves something a little more thoughtful this Valentine’s Day, why not create a very special photo book? More personal than roses, and more heartfelt than any mass-produced card, it’s the perfect way to tell someone how much they mean to you – in your own words. We’ve compiled a few of our favourite Valentine’s photo book ideas to help inspire you to get started.
A Year in Memories
It’s amazing how quickly time flies when you’ve found someone you have fun with. So look back at all your adventures over the past year by creating your very own photo yearbook. Whether you’ve travelled the world holding hands, enjoyed some incredible holidays, or just discovered your new favourite coffee shop, it’s a perfect opportunity to look back at all the best bits of your year together. You could even make it an annual tradition; build a whole library of memories, and you’ll never be stuck for Valentine’s gift ideas ever again.
Design Tip: If you like the convenience of your phone’s camera, but are often disappointed by the image quality, try shrinking the picture down and putting multiple on one page. Even low-resolution Instagram photos look great in square grid formations.
The Story of Us
Use a photo book to tell your very own love story. From how you met, to first dates, to moving in together, to wedding snaps or pictures of the kids. However long you’ve been together, whichever path you’ve taken, every couples’ journey is unique – so celebrate every step of yours!
Design Tip: If you have a particular favourite day or important memory, but no photographs, why not tell your story in text? Take the time to set the scene and recount the tiny details. Don’t forget to make it visually appealing by getting creative with colours and typography.
The Guidebook
Take inspiration from guidebooks to create a fun and quirky guide to your favourite person. List all your favourite qualities, and include all those important dates like birthdays, anniversaries and milestones. This is a great way to show them how well you know them too, by including their favourite movies, music and food.
Puppy Love
Who says Valentine’s Day is only for couples? If the biggest place in your heart is reserved for your four-legged friend, they deserve a pet photo book! That cute little furry face probably fills up most of your camera roll anyway, so treat yourself to a cosy evening picking out your favourites and creating the most irresistibly adorable photo book ever.
For The Little Ones
Take some inspiration from our American friends and involve your little ones in the Valentine’s Day celebrations. After all, is there anyone you love more than your kids? Children change so much from year to year, so it’s a great opportunity to look back over the current phase. Include all your favourite photos, but try to capture their current phase too. Are they obsessed with dinosaurs? What do they want to be when they grow up? Is there a toy they won’t leave the house without? Perhaps even add in a photo of their handwriting, or a picture they’ve drawn recently.
This is another photo book that makes a lovely yearly tradition, so you can look back and see how your little person has changed over the years.
