Wall calendars for travel photography
Creating a personalised calendar offers you the perfect opportunity to take your favourite memories from the past year and relive them each month in the coming year. Choose twelve of your most visually stunning photos and exhibit them on the wall to celebrate every month.
We'll give you tips on how to design in a way that places your images centre-stage, using handy design templates in the CEWE app. Your new calendar will be ready in no time.
Tips for choosing a format and theme
Whether you use our app, online editor or Creator Software, you'll select your chosen style and design at the beginning of the creation process. In the app, Calendar sizes up to A3 are available. In our desktop software and online, you can create larger calendars up to A2 in size.
The larger the calendar, the better your photos will look on your wall. For this calendar, we opted for a landscape format, because most of our photographs are landscapes. This is how the images really come into their own.
Top tip for designing in the CEWE Creator Software:
To access to as many different templates as possible, make sure you scroll to the bottom of the design selection screen and click the button labelled "Download more designs".
In the CEWE App and Creator Software, you can choose from many different designs for calendars. We created our calendar using the app and chose a simple design to give our photos enough breathing space to be the central focus.
Of course, you can also design a landscape A3 Photo Calendar online too.
For the most effective visual design, we chose to focus on just one photo each month.
If several photos were used on each calendar page, the individual images would compete for the viewer's attention. That's why we look forward to celebrating a single treasured memory every month instead.
When creating a harmonious wall calendar that looks great throughout the year, we made sure that the photo we chose for the calendar each month matched the appropriate season.
To match pictures to the winter season, we used winter landscapes with cooler colours. In the summer, on the other hand, we used warm and colourful images.
Since the calendar (including the cover photo) offers space for just 13 photos, only the very best pictures make the cut. Here are our selection criteria:
- We show emotional moments that allow us to relive special memories.
- Landscapes should be dreamlike and well-composed, reflecting our abilities as travel photographers. Balanced lighting and mood are both very important to us. Photos should be aesthetically pleasing and harmonious.
- Finally, we consider how unique and interesting the image is, such as the erupting volcano in Iceland.

We wish you lots of fun designing,
