DECLARATION ON ACCESSIBILITY

CEWE Limited endeavours to make its website www.cewe.ie accessible in accordance with the requirements of the law implementing Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and Statutory Instrument No. 636/2023 of Irish Law and the legal provisions concretising the law come into force on 28 June 2025.

CEWE offers a comprehensive service for the personalised design and creation of high-quality photo products. Customers can have their favourite memories professionally printed in the form of photo books, calendars, greeting cards, photo gifts, wall pictures or photo prints. The service is characterised by user-friendly design options, intuitive software and modern printing technologies that guarantee excellent results. Whether for private memories, personalised gifts or decorations - CEWE makes it possible to capture special moments for eternity.

This declaration on accessibility applies to the website www.cewe.ie and the mobile applications (CEWE App, CEWE myPhotos, CEWE Passport App) of CEWE Limited.

Status of compliance with the requirements

The website www.cewe.ie largely fulfils the essential requirements of WCAG 2.2 (conformity level AA) and the technical requirements formulated in the BFSG regulation.

The accessibility of the website was tested with the most common browsers (including Chrome and Firefox).

We have summarised the most important aspects for you below, divided into the four accessibility criteria of perceptibility, usability, comprehensibility and robustness.

Perceptibility (sight & hearing)

  • In terms of contrast, font and layout, we use and support an easily legible font with sufficient size and spacing, sufficient colour contrasts for all texts and visual elements.
  • Illustrations have comprehensible alternative texts (exception: decorative elements). Important videos have subtitles that can be switched on and which can also be paused, stopped and adjusted in speed and volume.

Usability (keyboard, motor skills)

  • Keyboard operability:
The website enables extensive keyboard operability. The sequence of focus jumps follows an intuitive structure. When navigating with the keyboard, active elements are clearly highlighted.
  • Click areas & touch targets:
Interactive elements are sufficiently large and leave enough space to other elements. Navigation works in portrait and landscape format, both on the desktop and on mobile devices.
  • Comprehensibility:
We use clear and logical structures with short sentences and paragraphs. The navigation (main navigation and footer) are uniformly named. Our order process supports autocomplete and has a detailed error description for incorrectly completed form fields.

Robustness & security

Our website is implemented with semantically correct HTML. In some cases, ARIA roles support comprehensibility for screen readers. Payment forms are designed so that they can be used by all user groups and have no hidden CAPTCHA hurdles due to visual puzzles.

Content that is not accessible

Unfortunately, the content listed below is not yet accessible:

  • Image editing functions are only partially usable in some cases.
  • Alternative texts for rendered designs are not yet available.
  • The search is not yet accessible.
  • The footer is not yet accessible.

We are continuing to work on the necessary technical developments to be able to make this content accessible to you soon and are doing everything we can to realise this as quickly as possible.

Should you encounter any barriers when using the CEWE ordering channels, we would like to politely refer you to our barrier-free website at www.cewe.ie, where you can obtain comprehensive information and support.
